One Thousand Years: Genesage
Brother Michael recalled the Fall of the Roman Church, the Heretic Pope, the Possession of
Mary and the Utter Chaos the last days of Papacy had produced. Who would have thought
that Hell itself and that False Prophet would take over the last Papal rule? And just as the
Roman Catholic had finally joined with Greek Orthodox on the Earth?
It had been heralded as the greatest moment in Church History. A healing, a great victory of
faith, everyone was excited. To celebrate both the Vatican and the newly restored
Constantinople had reopened their libraries to the World at large…,
Brother Michael shivered as he remembered some of the "forbidden" books had been
rediscovered and like little children who should have known better the group who opened
them. Alexandrian School had nothing on this “revelation”. People began dappling in the
Arcane had no idea what they were doing or loosing upon the earth. No idea how deception
is carried on the back of knowledge.
But Michael also remembered his early days studying with the first order of Catacombs.
Those Men who saw the coming Corruption, some even prepared by ancient texts like
Nostradamus, the Sealed Scripts, and ancient writings hidden in the Vatican tombs of
wisdom. These brothers chose to live and die to save Knowledge.
The actual forefathers of the Brothers Sage.
The Brothers Sage had been started 20 years into the Millennium when the earlier First Order
of Catacombs had decided to commit all knowledge to Holy Writ and store that in
"Catacombs" to be constructed secretly in every Community that grew over 1000 people.
They determined that one central location would not be good enough so they decided to
enclose knowledge in stored locations and to make a "storehouses" of knowledge and foods
as well as survival needs in case the Kingdom wasn't all it was purported to be.
The First Order of Catacombs didn't reject the rule of the Kingdom or Jesus from Jerusalem
but they held to the ancient idea of having a back up plan. The First Order from the earliest
days of the Kingdom Age to the current time had grown consistently as the idea of being a
part of something for a greater good appealed to the conscience of those who had missed the
Rapture. Most were pure in heart in wanting knowledge to be saved, but many also operated
form the sense of guilt. Guilty over the missed opportunity of salvation from the Tribulation
period that had been afforded others.
As the years went by the Order grew and the exclusive idea of men gave way to adding
women who had survived and so did ideas of what to do with the knowledge and so the
Second Order of Catacombs was created. The First Order was male and female as well as
the Second Order.
The Second Order of Catacombs met regularly seeking to retain knowledge and also to
influence what they felt must become a political entity in the Kingdom Age.
The First Order was to retain Knowledge.
The Second Order was to use it.
